Robert W. Stone

Robert W. Stone, 78, of Elkhart, died on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Robert was born on April 23, 1943 in Elkhart to the late Robert Charles and Margaret Frances (Churchill) Stone.  He married Susan Stewart on July 11, 1964 in Elkhart, IN.

He is survived by his wife, Sue and three children: Troy (Shanna) Stone of Elkhart, Jeff (Mario) Stone of Chicago and Noelle (Jeff) Stone of Fishers, IN. As well as two grandchildren Baerett Stone and Natalia Nieset.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles Stone.

Robert attended Indiana State University as well as Purdue University. He also owned and operated his own business in Elkhart called Vintage Trailers. Robert was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Elkhart. He served as Board President at the Cape Marco Condominiums on Marco Island, FL for 12 years and President of the HOA. Robert was an avid golfer. He was a member of Lely Country Club in Naples, FL and Elcona Country Club in Bristol.

A visitation for Robert will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 6 to 8pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart. A funeral service for Robert will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 10am at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery. Pastor Karen Koelsch will be officiating.
