Rocco Barbaro Obituary

Rocco P. Barbaro, 86, of Goshen, died on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Goshen Hospital.

Rocco was born September 2, 1934 in Niles, MI to the late Frank and Mary (Cappelletti) Barbaro.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Barbaro and a sister, Rosemary Mitchell.

On March 8, 1958 he married Mary J. Metzger in Elkhart.  Mary died November 7, 2014.  Surviving are four daughters: Cathy (Bobby) McDonald and Roxanne Barbaro, both of Elkhart, Sylvia Barbaro DeVincent and Elizabeth (Ron) White, both of Goshen; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two brothers, Frank Barbaro of Atlanta, GA and Larry Barbaro of Elkhart.

Rocco was employed for many years at T-L Industries in sales before finishing his career at Recreation By Design, retiring in 2011.

He was a graduate of Elkhart High School and a veteran of the United States Navy.  He was also a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.  Rocco enjoyed taking trips to the local casinos as well as Las Vegas but he especially enjoyed cooking.  Being a people person, Rocco never knew a stranger.

Visitation for Rocco will be on Thursday, October 29 from 4 pm until 7 pm at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 am at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with the Rev. Craig Borchard officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
