Russell Herman Enfield

Russell Herman Enfield, 85, of Elkhart, IN passed away the evening of Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in his home.

Russell was born on April 6, 1940 in Bryan, OH to the late Herman and Vera Enfield.

On July 23, 1961, Russell was united in marriage to Sandra Kay (Houchin) Enfield.

Russell is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, as well as two children, Russell D. (Kay L.) Enfield and Melony Enfield; siblings Ray Enfield, Roscoe (Donna) Enfield, Marlene (Paul) Nichols, and Rolland (Mary) Enfield; as well as 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Russell was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonita Enfield; siblings Richard Enfield, Marilyn Sanchez, Johnny Enfield, and Ronald Enfield; as well as one great-grandchild.

Russell worked as the Men’s Health Club Director at the YMCA before retiring in 1995. He was an avid sports fan and always cheered on IU football and basketball teams. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Russell was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation for Russell will be held on Tuesday, December 16 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 West Franklin Street, Elkhart, IN 46516. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17 at 11:00 AM at Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart, with one hour of visitation prior. Russell will be laid to rest at Adamsville Cemetery, MI.
