Shalonda Lavette Harris

Shalonda Lavette Harris, 31, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away the morning of Saturday, January 25, 2025 in her home.

Shalonda was born on December 14, 1993 in South Bend to her parents Adell Harris and Alonzo Harris Jr.

Shalonda worked at various restaurants including McDonalds and Einstein Bagel Co. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and baking, and loved talking on the phone.

She is survived by her parents Adell Harris and Alonzo Harris Jr., as well as three brothers, Alonzo Harris III, Christopher Green, and Amantre Green; two sisters, Sharnika Gray and Adrianna Harris; grandparents Dorothy Harris and Carol Dowdell; her favorite busdriver, Charlene, her good friend Theresa, her caregiver Jackie McGhee, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, 5 nieces, and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ta’derius Malone, and grandparents Alonzo Harris Sr., Nathaniel Dowdell, and Odell Dowdell.

A funeral service for Shalonda will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home, 403 West Franklin Street, Elkhart, Indiana 46516, with visitation for one hour prior. Elder Titus Hackworth will be officiating.
