Sheila J. Hackney

Sheila J. Hackney, 77, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away the morning of Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation, Elkhart.

Sheila was born on August 9, 1947 in Elkhart to the late Clifford and Mary (Nagy) Whitmer. She was also preceded in death by her child, Paulus Whitmer, and brother, James Whitmer.

In 1996, Sheila married her husband, Robert Hackney. She was very talented in her crafts, and she especially loved to crochet. She also loved owls and playing video games.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Robert Hackney, children Paul Whitmer, Paulette Whitmer, and Robert Lewis, and 12 grandchildren.

Sheila was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
