Thomas J. Williams, 66, of Elkhart, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.
Tom was born November 9, 1953 in Elkhart to the late H. Ben Jr. and Juanita L. (Hanson) Williams. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Steve Williams.
He is survived by two daughters; Julie (Alex) Cripe of Elkhart and Haley (Troy) Warstler of Middlebury: two sons; Benjamin (Alyssa) Williams of Wausau, WI and Colin (Lauren) Andrews of Bluffton, IN; eleven grandchildren; one sister, Linda Abbott of Colorado and two brothers; Scott (Kathy) Williams of Surprise, AZ and Doug (Sherry) Williams of Oregon, and sister -in-law Suellen Williams and his five nieces and six nephews.
Tom retired from Voyager after many years of working in sales. He attended Texas Christian University for one year before transferring to Indiana University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history. He was a huge I.U. basketball fan and Green Bay Packer’s football fan. He also volunteered to read for the students at Beardsley Elementary School. Tom was also a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a long-time chairman of the outreach committee at St. John’s. Above all else, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation for Tom will be held on Sunday, March 8th from 12 until 1:30 at St. John’s Episcopal Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30. The Rev. Terri Peterson and the Rev. Richard Kallenberg will officiate. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
