Timothy Ritchie Obituary

Timothy “Tim” Lee Ritchie, 68, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away peacefully the afternoon of Monday, October 21, 2024 in his home. He was born on September 25, 1956 to the late Edward J. and Marilou (Conner) Ritchie.

Tim is survived by his brothers, Michael P. Ritchie, Edward J. Ritchie, and Russell C. (Anita) Ritchie; as well as his nieces, Elizabeth Ritchie, Amanda (Spencer) Hershberger, and Heather Miller, and two nephews, Zachary Ritchie and Wyatt Ritchie.

Tim, a devoted Christian and Democrat, was a lifelong resident of Elkhart, graduating from Elkhart Central in 1975.  He worked as a bar-manager at several venues throughout his life, including Tippecanoe Place, South Bend and the University Club of Notre Dame. He proudly served as President of the Dunlap Rotarians, with whom he went on trips to India and Africa to deliver polio vaccines. In his free time, he loved taking care of his gardens and cats; watching Jeopardy and old westerns; reading comic books and cookbooks; and spending time with family. Tim also took great pleasure in the theatre, especially musicals and Shakespeare.

Tim was a faithful brother and uncle, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Per the family’s request, services will be held at a later date. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation.
