Vera Mae Kozak, 93, of Elkhart, IN passed away the evening of Monday, July 7, 2025.
Vera was born on March 6, 1932 in Elkhart, IN to the late Joe Parcell and Martha (Flicker) Parcell. On July 31, 1972, she was united in marriage to Casimer Kozak, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her son, Steven Casimer Kozak, sisters Carol Jean Parcell, Joanne Johnson, and Evelyn Tschupp; niece Mary Jones; as well as her companion, Ed Ginter.
Vera is survived by her stepson, Larry Kozak of Elkhart; stepdaughter, Karen (Steve) Orr of Indianapolis; niece, Patty (Ron) Yoder of Goshen; step-grandchildren, Angela Byers, Jessica Norris, Stephanie Kozak, and Robin Kozak; as well as 7 step-great-grandchildren.
Vera graduated from Wakarusa High School with the class of 1949. She worked at Sigmund Sorg Jewelry in Elkhart, where she was employed for 52 years before her retirement. Vera loved to travel and went on 99 bus tours with Menno Travel.
Vera was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1331 N Main St, Elkhart, IN 46514, with visitation for one hour prior. Vera will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
