Virgil Dale Strahm, 87, of Elkhart died October 7, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born in Berne, IN on April 13, 1933 to the late Nelson and Josephine (Moser) Strahm.
On June 27, 1954 he married Marie Habegger. Virgil attended Goshen College of Nursing, being the first male graduate in 1959 with a B.S. in Nursing. A perfect vocation for him for he loved to serve the people in his community. He later retired from Elkhart General Hospital after 40 years.
Left to cherish Virgil’s memory are his wife of 66 years, Marie; two sons, Jon Strahm and Tom Pfeiffer; two daughters Patricia (Tim) Thompson and Carol Henderson; and two sisters; Zenith Guiff and Daisy (Ron) Koehn. Virgil is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Virgil’s name to World Partner’s P.O. Box 9333 Fort Wayne, IN 46899. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
Due to illness in the family, the services at Beulah Missionary Church have been postponed. A graveside service will take place 11AM at Prairie Street Cemetery.
