Virginia L. Paulson, 92, of Niles, formerly of Elkhart, died at the Ernestine Raclin House at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Virginia was born in Middlebury on July 16, 1931, to the late Olin and Esther (Elder) Schrock. Also preceding her in death are a son, Timothy Paulson, a grandson, Luke Paulson and a sister, Margaret Shoup.
As Virginia Schrock, she married Albert “Bert” Paulson on March 14, 1951. Bert died on September 17, 2012. Surviving is a son, Rick (Shirley) Paulson of Niles; four grandchildren: Jason (Sara) Paulson, David Paulson, Tracy (Brian) Campbell and Courtney (Chris) Paulson-Hunter; seven great grandchildren; Cameron and Garrett Paulson, Caleb and Braden Campbell, Thomas and Gabrielle Billheimer and Ruby Hunter.
Virginia was formerly employed by Johnson & Davidson Distributing as a corporate officer for 25 years prior to her retirement. She and her late husband were charter members of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she was very active. She was involved for many years with the Blanketeers, where ladies of the church made and donated children’s blankets for local charities. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time in Canada.
Memorial services for Virginia will be held at a later date. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
