Wanda Floyd Obituary

Wanda Jean Franklin Floyd, 90, died peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the side of her granddaughter Tyannya Anglemyer and great-grandson Hunter, who cared for her the last few months of her life.

Wanda was born on September 23, 1934 in Baxter, TN to the late William Hugh and Grace Franklin. She married Elmore Ruben “Buster” Floyd on April 12, 1952 in Rossville, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hugh Franklin and Grace Franklin, along with her husband, Elmore Floyd; daughters Patricia Ann Floyd and Kathy Warner; and siblings William, Harvey, James Thomas “JT”, Don, Jerry, and Vonda J. Petgen.

She is survived by 3 sons, Dalen R. (Denise) Floyd of Carefree, AZ, Gary W. Floyd & family of Elkhart, IN, and Terry E. Floyd of Union, MI; grandchildren Stacey Lynn (Mattheiu) Grosclaude of Geneva, Switzerland, Jason Floyd of Phoenix, AZ, Desiree (Timothy) Hardin of Floyds Knobs, IN, Chloe (Tyler) Forbey of Salem, IN, Christina (Derek) Ringer of Indianapolis, IN, Tyannya Anglemyer of Elkhart, IN, and Shawn Warner of Cassopolis, MI; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and one brother, Doyle Sr. Franklin of Elkhart, IN.

Wanda was a great homemaker as her children grew up. When they were older, she started working at Pierce Tool & Die until she retired. She loved spending time with her family and always greeted people at the back door with “Are you hungry? What can I get you?” Those who knew her knew there was always a seat at her table. She loved the outdoors and spent many hours walking trails and parks. After her retirement, she settled in Fort Myers Beach, FL near her son Terry, where she walked the beach daily. The walks gave her peace, the views surrounded her with beauty.

Her smile will always be with those she leaves behind.

Wanda will be remembered at a family memorial dinner held at a later date, to be determined by her family.
